Building Connection & Community with Rebeca Enriquez
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Tuesday Nov 14, 2017
Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday!
On today's episode is Rebeca Enriquez. Rebeca is the Development Coordinator at Camp Kesem and I'm so happy and excited to share her story on today's episode.
Rebeca and I met at USC, and we spent our Junior year as each other's #1 and #2. She was President of Alpha Chi Omega while I was VP of Chapter Relations and Standards - I would not have made it through that year without her and her friendship.
Camp Kesem is such a special organization and is one that changed Rebeca's life. After losing her mom to cancer in her junior year of college, she fell in love with the mission of Camp Kesem. In fact, she helped start the chapter at USC in 2013 where she first served as a Volunteer Coordinator.
Rebeca candidly shares her story and journey on today's episode. Through her work with Kesem and the community that she has built for herself, she has found her passion, stayed true to herself, and continues to learn so much about herself along the way.
Support, community, bravery, strength, vulnerability, honesty, friendship, and love. All on today's episode.

Change Is an Inside Job - Kindness & Storylines ✨
Thursday Nov 09, 2017
Thursday Nov 09, 2017
What's your storyline?
This is a question that I've thought about, mulled over, stressed about, and worked to make my own for most of my life.
The conversations I've had over the last several weeks have deeply inspired and motivated me to get quiet, dig deep, and remind myself of the tough questions and my truth.
Self-care, kindness, and setting good boundaries - three themes that have come up time and again on this podcast - and it's time we open up the dialogue more and get, real.
The truth is in order to really talk about self-care and kindness, we have to address the way we talk to ourselves. Our self-talk. Well, our negative self-talk and the storylines we weave for ourselves.
Self-care. Kindness. Fear. Resistance. Breaking old patterns. Trust. Love. Connection. Belonging. Worthiness. Perception. Joy. Writing my own story.
I talk about all of this on today's podcast.
Give today's episode a listen - sharing this part of me on this episode and on this podcast makes me a little nervous, but I know there is power in connection, sharing, authenticity, and our truth.

Welcome back to The Seek The Joy Podcast!
On today’s episode is Michael Bina - writer, director, producer, and a long-time friend of mine. Michael is also the co-founder of Stage 2 Media, an award-winning Los Angeles film and video production company that creates dynamic projects from pre-production all the way through post.
The timing of this episode is MAGIC if you ask me – this weekend Michael and the rest of Stage 2 Media are finalists in the 2017 Producers Guild of America Make Your Mark Weekend Shorts Competition for their short film Children Of The Revolution (!!!)
What an exciting time and opportunity for him and the rest of Stage 2 Media to even be nominated – I am so proud as his friend.
We talk all about his writing process, what he’s learned along the way from both success and failure, staying grounded and loyal in the entertainment industry, and so much more.
Plus, there’s a fun (and embarrassing) throwback story at the end…

Finding Yourself Again On and Off the Bike with Melissa Anderson

Tuesday Oct 31, 2017
Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday, and Happy Halloween!
On this week’s episode of The Seek The Joy Podcast is Melissa Anderson. Melissa and I met while in law school, and she found joy, grounding, community - and honestly her way back to herself - through Soul Cycle.
We talk about her journey with Soul Cycle, the importance of a strong supportive community, navigating the world as an adult (or as I like to call it, adulting), and knowing your boundaries. It's so easy to lose sight of who you are in the midst of so many changes, especially when life is throwing one too many curveballs your way.
The journey back to YOU is the most important one you'll ever embark on. Melissa's story is one so many of us can relate to.
My biggest takeaway from this episode is the big themes that keep coming up in each episode I’ve recorded. Boundaries, self-care, kindness, and taking care of yourself. All of these themes keep coming up time and again . . . there's definitely something more there for all of us to explore.
Today’s episode is a good one ✨💛

Gratitude Check ✨
Thursday Oct 19, 2017
Thursday Oct 19, 2017
I'm doing something a little different this week inspired by all of you - a gratitude check ✨
I've learned so much in the last two weeks, and I wanted to take a few minutes and share it with all of you.
It has been exactly one month since I started developing this podcast and in that time I've far exceeded my expectations - my mind is sort of blown.
So, what do I talk about in this bonus gratitude check episode?
Community, sisterhood, authenticity, not hiding from who you are and what you have to say, showing up for yourself and others, and that more than anything else we're all experiencing the same struggles, stressors, and pressures. We're all on this journey together, none of us are alone.
I think it's safe to say I had some lightbulb moments in the last couple of weeks - I'm realizing stuff, and I know I'm not alone.
On that note - I want to share your story on the Seek The Joy Podcast. Is there something that you want to talk about, about seeking joy, or the struggle to seek joy and stay true to yourself and stay grounded in today's social and political climate, and maybe you don't want to come on the podcast but you want to share your story? I'd be honored to share your story on the podcast. We can even keep it anonymous too.
If you're interested, let me know ☺️💛
So, that's it. Check out the episode, hit subscribe, and if you can we'd love it if you could leave a quick rating and/or review ✨

Turning Passion into a Side Hustle With Leah Yousefi of Calligraphy By Leah
Tuesday Oct 17, 2017
Tuesday Oct 17, 2017
Hey everyone, and welcome back to The Seek The Joy Podcast! 🎙✨💛
Today is our second episode, and our first episode with a guest - and we're so excited!!
Today's honest conversation is with Leah Yousefi, otherwise known as Calligraphy by Leah. She is an all-around good grounded person, who just so happened to find her joy in calligraphy. She designed the calligraphy for the Seek The Joy Podcast and is a really good friend of mine ☺️
In this episode we discuss how diving deep into calligraphy and a passion project really helped her through some of the more difficult times in her life, the importance of keeping yourself surrounded by good positive people, taking care of yourself no matter what, and starting a side hustle.
Sounds like a good episode, right? We certainly think so!
Check out the episode, hit *subscribe* and if you can, we'd love it if you could leave a quick rating and/or review. ✨🤗
